Brilliant was the second commissioning programme based on the partnership between Yorkshire Arts and The Culture Company. This exhibition, which took place at Impressions Gallery, York, displayed Copyrite – Benedict’s response to the commissioning brief from Brilliant:

Where and how can the artist connect and separate when moving into someone else’s space, another set of priorities, different values, pressures? What happens in this process of exchange and interaction?

Copyrite consisted of four projects, all located in York. Connecting with: skateboarders (scratched); homeless people (Homeless Houses); residents of a housing estate (Melting Mail) and public consumers of ephemera (A book for loozing in the street?)
